Obituary of Charlotte Hannah

Charlotte Louise Jones Hannah, age 75, of Cloudy, Oklahoma, passed peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2013, in the hospital in Paris, Texas, after a lengthy battle with cancer . Charlotte was born April 21, 1938, at the family home in Stonewall, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oliver Logan Jones and Leola Louise Holkum Jones. She and Jerry Hannah were married June 8, 1962, and enjoyed many years of farming, ranching and operating their own businesses . They retired at their place on Little River fulfilling their dreams of enjoying the outdoors , family and friends. Most recently, Charlotte has owned and operated Bent Tree Cabins near Cloudy, Oklahoma, and enjoyed many people who came to spend weekends and have family reunions in the cabins alongside the river. They may have come strangers but always left as friends, coming back year after year, with most of them calling her mom. She loved making her renowned chili at the annual chili cookoff at Bent Tree Grill and was never shy about a little competition. Charlotte and Jerry always loved a party and were great hosts to anyone who came by. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Hannah and son, Marty Van Hoose. Charlotte is survived by three precious daughters, whom she loved dearly, Barbara Jean Bathe, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Terri Wallace, of Gloucester, Virginia, and Kelly Hannah of Cloudy, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Johnny Van Hoose, Eva Stout, Brandi Grinstead, James Bathe, Christopher Bathe, Eric Hardaway, Anna Lloyd, and Amy Coleman, sixteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Cora Wilkinson and husband, Ron of Carrollton, Texas; seven nieces and nephews; special friends, Don Lee and Greg Pratt; she will also be missed by numerous cousins, extended family and a host of friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the County Line Cemetery in Pickens, OK with burial immediately following in the family plot alongside her husband and son.
