Obituary of Phillip Gilbert

Phillip "Bubba" Gilbert, 68, of Idabel , passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 in Garland, Texas. The son of Jake and Louise (Singleton) Gilbert, Phillip was born July 7, 1945 in Idabel. After graduating from Broken Bow High School, he pursued several different careers of his interest. Phillip worked as a Fireman in Idabel for over 10 years, assisted in the formation of and worked for the McCurtain County EMS, taught CPR and was a Nursing Home Administrator for over thirty years. He enjoyed cooking, smoking meats in his smoker, hunting, fishing and camping. Phillip was a 32nd degree Mason in the Idabel Masonic Lodge and of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Gilbert; one brother-in-law, Jim Sandridge and one nephew, Jason Fuller. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Todd Gilbert and his wife Heidi, of Stillwater, OK; one daughter, Chanta' Moran and her husband, Adam, of Idabel; his mother, Louise Gilbert, of Idabel; two sisters, Linda Coleman and her husband, Jerrel, of Holly Creek, Glenda Sandridge of Garland, TX; three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Leland Burkett officiating. Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery in Idabel. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
