Obituary of Florence Cherry

Florence Cherry, 77, resident of Idabel, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Oklahoma City, OK. She was born April 9, 1929 in Valliant, OK the daughter of William and Valzo Briley Cherry. Ms. Cherry had lived in McCurtain County most of her lifetime, moving back from Missouri in 1960. She loved to cook. She enjoyed it so much, she often danced while she cooked. Florence worshiped Jehovah and was affiliated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Idabel. Honesty was a strong quality that Florence possessed. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, John Doss and Darryl Cherry, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Florence leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughter-in-law, Franklin Cherry of Idabel and James Louis and Vicky Kelly of Missouri; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Cherry of Muskogee, Jeana Cherry of Idabel, Esther and Ray Baker of Idabel, Cheryl Cherry of Oklahoma City; brother Harold Cherry of Durant; sisters, Melinda Polk of Broken Bow and Doris Whitaker of Idabel; a number of very loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
