Obituary of Dorothy James

Dorothy James, age 79, of Millerton, OK passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Midwest City, OK. She was born on September 12, 1933 in Broken Bow, OK, the daughter of Richard Austin Norman and Lillie Lee Barger Norman. Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, dancing and taking care of her cats and birds. Dorothy was a Christian and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie James in 2007; daughter, Lillie Taylor; granddaughter, Desrae Sharp; great-grandson, Heath Bryant Farley. Dorothy is survived by her; sons and daughters-in-law, Harley Pitchford and Billie Jean of Millerton, OK and Phillip Pitchford and Sherry of Golden, OK; daughter, Phyllis Rice of Boswell, OK; step-daughter, Mary Zedeck of Maryland; step-sons, Steven James, David James and Ricky Lee James all of Maryland; special friend and caregiver, Rachaell Battiest; friend, Daisy Watson; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at the Wheelock Cemetery in Millerton, OK with Bro. Mike Durham officiating.
