Obituary of Mavis Mashburn

Virginia Mavis “Granny” Mashburn went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born in Wagoner County, Oklahoma on August, 18, 1928. Mavis married Jay Mashburn on August 28, 1948, in Haskell Oklahoma. Mavis and Jay resided in Tulsa Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas and lastly in Idabel, Oklahoma. Mavis had many jobs but was best known as a farmer’s wife, loving mother, Granny, and true friend. Mavis was involved in women’s ministries at church, Pink Lady’s, and school teacher's assistant. She loved cooking, raising her kids and taking care of grandkids. She was a faithful servant of God and was ready to go see Jesus. She was preceded in death by her father, Boone Thomas; mother, Lucy Logue Thomas; sister, Edna Jackson; brothers, Jack Thomas and Bill Thomas. Mavis is survived by husband, Jay Mashburn; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Barbara Mashburn and Jeff and Cindy Mashburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha Techau and Terry, LeAnna Hale Ball and Mike, and Sandra Ritchie and David; her 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Euna Martin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
