Obituary of Betty Martin

Betty Martin, age 62 , of the Redland Community passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at her son's home in Muse, OK. She was born March 6, 1951 at Mena, AR, the daughter of Ben and Roxie Scott Jordan. Betty was a 1969 graduate of Smithville High School, she later received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. She taught at George Elementary School in Idabel, OK for several years. Betty was a member of the Watering Hole Cowboy Church in Garvin, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother, Roxie Scott Jordan; husband David Martin; and a brother, Bob Jordan. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Amanda Martin of Muse, OK; her father, Ben Jordan of Smithville, OK; grandson, Jett Martin of Muse, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Sidney Jordan of Mulberry, AR, Kenny and Cindy Jordan of Watson, OK and John and Laura Jordan of Vian, OK; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Pam Martin of Ada, OK; nieces and nephews, Scott Jordan, Kye Jordan, Johna Jordan, Casey Jordan, Jayce Jordan and Miranda Martin; great-niece, Raylee Hurst; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Watering Hole Cowboy Church in Garvin, OK with Bro. Shawn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery in the Redland Community, OK. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the funeral home.
