Obituary of Clyde H. Lovewell

Clyde H. Lovewell, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home in Tom, OK. He was born on September 27, 1936 in Ben Lomond, AR, the son of Charles Henry Lovewell and Lela Belle Cooper Lovewell. Clyde married Mattie Pond on March 11, 1965 in Allene, AR. Clyde was retired, he was a sawmill worker, as well as holding other jobs during his lifetime. He was very devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. Clyde was a very talented guitar player and singer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Clyde was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads, AR and had lived in Tom, OK for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clyde Lovewell Jr.; daughter, Marsheila Lovewell; brothers, Roy Lovewell and Albert Lovewell; and sisters, Lillie Lingo and Mary Ellen Bates. Clyde is survived by his wife, Mattie Lovewell of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Melissa Lovewell of Crossroads, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Lela and Allen Thompson of Foreman, AR; grandchildren, Shelby Thompson, Justin Gregory, Jessie Ray Pollard Jr., Nicole Pollard Rains, Shabree Lovewell, Colt Lovewell and Amber Lovewell; great-grandchildren, Hallie Sims and Abby Lovewell; his beloved dog, "Little Bit" ; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Crossroads, AR. Interment will follow at the Lovewell Family Cemetery near the Mills Community, AR with Bro. Gary Steiner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
