Obituary of Linda Thompson

Linda Thompson, age 66 of the Pollard Community passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 20, 1947 in Haworth, OK, the daughter of Raymond and Kathleen Gurley Lawler. Linda married Aubrey Thompson in Haworth, OK on December 21, 1963. She was a homemaker. Linda was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed shopping and collecting jewelry. She loved taking care of her family and was very supportive of all their endeavors. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, Mamaw and friend. The only thing more important to Linda than her family was being a Christian. She was a faithful member of the Haworth Church of Christ of which her husband, Aubrey is the minister. She did everything she could to help and support Aubrey in his ministry. Linda will be greatly missed by all she loved and helped She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Clarsie Cox Gurley and Calhoun and Ader Jones Lawler; father-in-law, Monk Thompson; mother-in- law, Christine Thompson; brother-in-law, Harrel Thompson; sister-in-law, Sue Thompson and her precious dog, "Rebel". Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Aubrey Thompson of the home; her parents, Raymond and Kathleen Lawler of Haworth, OK; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and P.J. Womack of Millerton, OK, Alesha and Larry Helms of the Pollard Community, OK and DeeDee Thompson of DeKalb, TX; grandchildren and spouses, Zac and Jennifer Bishop, Josh and Sarah Bishop, Laurie Smith, Magan Helms and Rusty Helms; great-grandchildren, Blakely Bishop, Tyler, Titus, and Bailey Smith and two more great-grandbabies arriving later this summer; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Donald Holmes of Haworth, OK; sister-in-law, Pat Thompson and family; nephew and wife, Donny and Jennifer Holmes of Preston, MO; aunt, Betty Akard of Hot Springs, AR; uncle, Buster Gurley and wife, Faye of Idabel, OK; a great-niece, Hannah Holmes of Preston, MO; numerous other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Haworth Church of Christ in Haworth, OK. Burial will follow at the Pollard Cemetery in the Pollard Community, OK with Aubrey Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, OK.
