Obituary of Dale Valentine

Dale Farley Valentine, age 83, of Idabel, OK, passed away on Monday, December 17th in Texarkana, TX. Dale was born April 16, 1929 in Haworth, OK, to Luther Oscar Farley and Lena Provence Farley. She graduated from Idabel High School and attended Oklahoma State University. She was married on June 14, 1947 to Lawrence H. Valentine. Dale was a talented artist whose work was displayed at various county art shows. In addition, she assisted with art for many school functions and church decorating projects. She was receptionist at the Idabel Veterinary Clinic and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Idabel. Dale was an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking for many friends and family members. Dale was an avid gardener and also enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her family. Dale is survived by her husband Lawrence, daughters Jan Valentine-Yates of Oak Ridge, NC, Karen Valentine of Edmond, OK, one son, Mark Valentine of Mandeville, LA, 3 granddaughters; Jessica Valentine of Mustang, OK, Katy Valentine of Idabel, OK, and Hillary Valentine of Stillwater, OK, and one grandson, Sam Valentine of Mandeville, LA; sisters-in-law, Lorene Ward of Arizona and Florence Dollarhide of California; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. . She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Alma Farley Hamilton, Thelma Farley Cooke, Helen Burreus Hendrix, Alice Farley Wilson and one brother, Ernest Farley. Family visitation will be held at White Family Funeral Home on Thursday evening, December 20, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Idabel at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21st. Interment will be at Denison Cemetery in Idabel.
