Obituary of Irma Roan

Irma Roan, age 95, formerly of Idabel, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Springfield, MO. She was born on November 2, 1917 in Idabel, the daughter of Claud and Maud Folsom. She married Troy M. Roan on December 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2000. Irma was raised in Idabel and was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 40 years. More recently, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas for more than 20 years. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and formerly served as President of the local chapter in Idabel. She retired from the Department of Human Services in 1983 after 30 years of service. Irma, or "Nanny" as she was known to her beloved family, served as a strong Christian role model her entire life. She loved her family and was always willing to provide unconditional love and support to family members throughout her life. She greatly appreciated simple pleasures in life including traveling, cooking and fishing, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived a son, Dale Roan of Richardson, TX; daughters, Linda Flowers of Dallas, TX and Jackie Savage and husband, Ted, of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Catherine Guiant and husband, Pat; Jennifer Butcher, Tommy Flowers and wife, Denise, Sean Flowers and wife, Andrea, Kristi Myers and husband, Steven, and Courtney Morehead; great-grandchildren, Erika Johnston, Taylor Flowers and Laura Flowers, Addie Flowers and Trevor Flowers, Greenlee Myers and Savanna Myers and Hanna Gallamore; several other relatives and many friends.
