Obituary of Shaun Christopher Martin

Shaun Christopher Martin, age 34, of Tom, OK passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at his home in Tom, OK. He was born on January 2, 1978 in Texarkana, TX, the son of Larry and Kay Tucker Martin. Shaun was a 1996 graduate of Haworth High School. He was a very talented guitar player and attended the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA. Shaun worked at Larry's the store his family owns and operates. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Shaun loved duck hunting and was an accomplished trainer of champion retrievers. He was a guide for duck hunters at the Legacy Ranch in Foreman, AR. Shaun was a free spirit and liked to do things his own way but he was loved by his family and many friends and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack Tucker and Alice Riley; paternal grandparents, Earl and Katherine Martin; and a nephew, Matt Garrett. Shaun is survived by his parents, Larry and Kay Martin of Tom, OK; son, Dillion Martin of Texarkana, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Terena and Joe Moody of Tom, OK and Lois and Keith Harder of Pickens, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Debbie Garrett and Steve and Tracey Martin all of Tom, OK; a very special friend, Pam Baxter of Tom, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Haworth First Assembly of God Church in Haworth, OK with Jerry Galloway officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Shaun's son, Dillion Martin has been established at the McCurtain County National Bank, P.O. Box 359, Idabel, OK 74745.
