Obituary of Linda Kaye Bonner

Linda Kaye Bonner, age 64, of Garvin, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Smithville, OK. She was born on September 24, 1948 at Idabel, OK, the daughter of James Ace Ives Sr. and Adalene Bell Ives. Linda Kaye was a 1966 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. She taught first grade at Valliant, OK for over 25 years. Linda Kaye loved teaching and was very devoted to her students. She was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Recently Linda Kaye and her fiancé, Charles Hensley along with her beloved dog, Tillie spent most of her time at Smithville, OK where she could be outdoors enjoying the beautiful scenery. Linda Kaye loved spending time with her grandchildren, was affiliated with the Trinity Baptist Church in Valliant, OK and had lived her whole life in McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Wayne Bonner. Linda Kaye is survived by her fiancé, Charles Hensley of Smithville, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Laura Bonner of Iowa City, IA; daughters and son-in-law, Kaylene and Patrick Whalen of Heber City, UT and Robin Appleberg of Garvin, OK; brother and sister-in-law, James and Wanda Ives of Valliant, OK; grandchildren, Chloe Whalen, Connor Whalen, Zac Appleberg and Landon Appleberg; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and former students. Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Valliant School Auditorium with Bro. Orville Minyard officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community, OK The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
