Obituary of Mary Swarts

Mary Swarts, age 95 of Idabel passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Idabel. She was born on May 12, 1917 in the Bokhoma Community, OK, the daughter of Lawrence and Mae Thompson Coffman. Mary along with her husband owned and operated a Timber and Sawmill business in the Bokhoma area. She was a very talented lady, she painted and enjoyed arts and crafts as well as being an accomplished seamstress. Mary was an avid birdwatcher and loved watching them feed at her feeder and could tell you what type each bird was. She had lived in Idabel since 1969, moving from the Bokhoma area. Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Swarts; brothers, Thelbert Coffman, R.B. Coffman and J.B. Coffman; a sister, Ione Coffman; a special nephew and caregiver, Phillip Coffman; nephews, James Coffman and Van Coffman; and a niece, Dean Moore. Mary is survived by special niece and caregiver, Leatrice Coffman of the Redland Community, OK; nieces and nephews, Larry and Joyce Coffman, Bert and Marilyn Coffman and Nell Stewart all of California, Ann Dorries of Valliant, OK and Bill Coffman of Hugo, OK; great nieces and nephews who helped take care of Mary, Ken and Judy Moore of Idabel, OK, Tammy and Jeff Tidwell of Broken Bow, OK, Teresa Williams of the Redland Community and Sherry Moore of Clarksville, TX; step-daughter, Syble Jones of Durant, OK; step-grandson, Jim Green of Durant, OK; several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with interment to follow beside her husband at Denison Cemetery in Idabel, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
