Obituary of Bruce Wilson

Bruce A. Wilson, age 91, of Valliant, OK and former Idabel, OK resident passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Plano, TX. He was born on February 17, 1921 in the Bokhoma Community, OK, the son of Charles B. and Pearl Hunkapillar Wilson. He married Geraldine "Gerry" Fuller on September 19, 1944 in Camden, AR. Bruce was a retired Surveyor/Engineer with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed taking care of cattle and his place. He loved his family and was a devoted father and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith and was affiliated with the Pollard Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerry Wilson; son, Franklin B. Wilson; brothers, Bufford Wilson and Troy Wilson; and sister, Myrtle Wilson Mowery. Bruce is survived by his son, Peter A. Wilson Sr. and wife, Noemi, of Valliant, OK; daughter, Susan Wilson McCarley of Irving, TX; grandsons; Eric B. Wilson and wife, Betty; Jason A. Wilson and wife, Susan, and Peter A. Wilson Jr., and wife, Kelly; granddaughters, Robin Wilson Hooper and Erin Wilson Clifton and husband, Zach; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the White Family Chapel with Peter A. Wilson Jr. and W.O. "Dub" Mowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
