Obituary of Tony George

Anthony Michael “Tony” George, 23, of the Forest Grove Community, OK passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Idabel, OK. He was born on April 24, 1989 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Mike and Mary Balderas George. Tony was employed at SETCO. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, riding horses and four wheelers. Tony was fascinated by all kinds of snakes and unlike most did not fear them. He was a member of Oklahoma State Athletic Commission. He played the piano, and “Had it not been” and “Just a Rose will do” were among his favorite hymns. Tony was affiliated with the Pollard Missionary Baptist Church and had lived in McCurtain County for 10 years coming from Oklahoma City. Tony will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a dear son, brother and the kind of friend who was always looking out for you. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Virginia George. Tony is survived by his parents, Mike and Mary George of the Forest Grove Community; sisters, Makayla George of the Forest Grove Community and Darenda George of Moore, OK; his nephew, Darrien George of Moore, OK; maternal grandparents; Frank and Jean Balderas of Newcastle, OK and Ramona Baucom of Oklahoma City; his girlfriend and ”his lil darlin”, Erika Farmer; a special friend, Steven O’Rear; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of dear church friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. Mike Cowart and Bro. James Brunson officiating. Interment service will follow at the Pollard Cemetery in the Pollard Community, OK with Bro. Ralph Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the funeral home. A memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Sooner Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 5701 S.E. 12th Street, Midwest City, OK.
