Obituary of Julie Ann Fisher

Julie Ann Johnson-Coleman-Fisher, 54 years old, died Monday, December 27, 2010 at her residence in Idabel. Julie was born June 23, 1956 in Sagamihara, Japan. She was raised in California, Booneville, Missouri and Idabel. Julie married during her high-school years. Later, while raising three young children alone and working fulltime, she earned her GED, then graduated with an Associate’s degree with Honors from Carl Albert Community College and finally earned her B.A. in Business from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. For years Julie was known as the cake-lady and made many, many birthday and wedding cakes for persons in the area. She made the medical field her work for the last 20 years of her life and dedicated the last 16 years with Dr. Thomas Salyer and staff who became part of her cherished family. Julie was an active and energetic person. She created a tropical water garden memorial for her deceased mother and sister. She enjoyed all types and variety of plants and flowers, especially plumeria, and devoted full days tending to them. She found great pleasure with new technology and even built her own computer. She also became an avid scrap booker and spent a lot of her time creating wonderful scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren. She was a loving, doting and forgiving mother, wife and companion. She will be missed by her family and many friends whose lives she touched over the years. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Johnson; mother, Martha Johnson; sister, Cathy Johnson; grandmother, Eddie Bailey; and step-father, Carl Sherman. Julie is survived by her husband, Dale, children Ryan Coleman and wife Sarah, Reagan Morris and husband Kyle, and Lacey Harris. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rilyn Coleman, Blake Morris, Jace Harris, Caleb Coleman and Reese Coleman. Other survivors include former husband and father of her children, Ernie Coleman, former mother-in-law Marie Coleman and sister-in-law Pam Coleman. Special ‘family’ member survivors are Rachel Williamson, Rindi Donaldson, and Kayci Galloway. Each of these special ladies loved and helped care for Julie throughout her illness. Julie confronted and fought colon cancer for the past 5 years. She had three wishes when she knew her chances for survival were limited: that her children would grow to honorable adulthood, that she could visit Hawaii one last time, and though she loved her grandsons dearly, that she would live to receive a granddaughter. God blessed her with these wishes before he took her into his arms. Visitation is scheduled at White Family Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At Julie’s request her casket will be closed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel with Family Pastor Shawn Robertson presiding. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery. Friends are invited to celebrate her life at the family residence afterwards from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to a special account at McCurtain County National Bank that will be donated to the Colon Cancer Alliance to assist colon cancer patients with their medical costs.(McCurtain County National Bank, P.O. Box 359, Idabel, OK 74745)
