Obituary of Helen Wright Roulaine

Helen Wright Roulaine, age 84 passed from this life on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Idabel. She was born in Reader, AR on November 28, 1927, the daughter of F.L. Simpson Sr. and Violet Wicker Simpson. Helen was a 1945 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. Helen owned and operated Wright's Grocery for over 20 years. In 1975 she took over Wall & Son Insurance. Helen later worked as a secretary at Central Elementary School in Idabel until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Idabel, the Idabel Country Club and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was also involved in both the Oklahoma and McCurtain County Retired Teachers Associations. Helen took up golf and loved playing and competing with her many friends. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was very proud of her family's accomplishments. Helen was an avid OU Fan for many years until being converted to an OSU Cowboy Fan by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 5 of whom graduated from OSU and one who is a currently a Senior. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert E. (Bob) Wright, Stanley Martin Wall and Emmett Earl Roulaine Sr.; a sister, Martha A. Simpson; and a brother, James M. (Sanie) Simpson. Helen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William A (Bill) Wright and Francie of Muskogee, OK and Robert E. (Bob) Wright and Andrea of Idabel; step-children, Emmett Earl Roulaine Jr. of Monroe, LA, Runette Leone and Robert of Ashdown, AR, Rolanda Roulaine of Dallas, TX and Rhodora McCandless and Lance of Ashdown, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd L. (Son) Simpson and Deanna of Mustang, OK; sisters-in-law, Louise (Wright) Stewart of Idabel, OK and Bobbie Simpson of Sand Springs, OK; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel with Bro. Shawn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery in Idabel, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
