Obituary of Rudy Tyler

Rudy Martin Tyler, age 63 passed from this life at his home in Millerton, OK on Friday, June 8, 2012. He was born in Millerton, OK on April 24, 1949, the son of G.W. Tyler and Mary Alice Reed Tyler. Rudy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He spent 4 years in the Navy, where he was a communications specialist on the USS Saratoga. After completing his service in the Navy during the Vietnam War he moved to South Dakota where he met and married his wife of 41 years, Jeanne Robbins. The family lived in South Dakota and Wyoming until they moved back to Oklahoma in 1986. Rudy worked for Kellogg Brown and Root as an electrician for nearly 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, rock hounding and spending time with his grandchildren. Rudy was a 32nd degree Mason and had lived most of his life in Millerton, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Linda Bobo and Anna Sue Chapin. Rudy is survived by his wife, Jeanne; a son, Toby Tyler; a daughter, Robin Thomas; four beautiful granddaughters, London Dewhurst, Samantha Tyler, Hannah Thomas and Ella Tyler; a grandson, Leland Thomas; and his sister, Nancy Brew; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Valliant, OK with Bro. Mike Mings officiating. Interment will follow in the Wheelock Cemetery at Millerton, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
