Obituary of Wilma Jean Hunt

Wilma Jean Hunt of Ashdown, AR, ended her journey here on earth February 22, 2007 at St Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, TX due to complications from major heart surgery she had on July 27, 2006. She is now at rest with the Lord. Jeannie, as we all affectionately knew her, was 61 years 8 months and 14 days old. She was born June 8, 1945 in Purcell OK the daughter of Roy and Viola Ryan Hunt. After graduating in 1963 from Dumas High School, Dumas, TX, Jeannie moved to Chico, CA. It was there that she graduated from Chico State University in 1966 with a Master’s Degree in Sociology. After graduation, Jeannie traveled extensively throughout Europe. Jeannie loved helping other people, being near her family, working on crafts and decorating her home. Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Stenhouse; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hunt; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ryan. She is survived by her parents, Roy and Viola Hunt of Ashdown, AR; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Pryor Hunt of Thailand; three very special nephews, Jason Hunt of Thailand, Bryan Hunt, stationed in Iraq (U S Army), Stephen Hunt of Thailand; one very special niece, Jam Hunt of Thailand; 5 uncles, Hap Ryan of Chico, CA, Curt Ryan and wife Mary of Ashdown, AR, Doyle Ryan and wife Nita of Ashdown, AR, Lee Ryan and wife Helen of Chico, CA, Troy Hunt and wife Ola Faye of Wright City, OK; five aunts, Barbara Hunt of Wright City, OK, Louise Hunt of Dumas, TX, Lena Hunt of Ada, OK, Elsie Hunt of Valliant, OK and Gracie Hunt of Corning, CA; three special life long friends from her college days, Carolyn Tindell of Roseville, CA, Carolyn Reed of Chico, CA, and Larry Lamb of Oregon; and a host of other family members and friends. She worked in her career field in Oregon and California before returning to Arkansas in the early 1980's to be near her family.
