Obituary of Jimmy Joe Schultz
Jimmy Joe Schultz, 79, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Granbury, TX.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Forest Grove Community, OK, with full military honors.
Mr. Schultz was born September 8, 1932 in DeQueen, AR, to James W. Schultz and Ida May Cockerham Schultz. He married Virginia Nell Gaines, of Garvin, OK on Apr. 24, 1952 in Houston, TX.
A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Schultz served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring at the age of 35 and beginning a new career as a salesman for Moore Business Forms in Texarkana, Texas.
An optimistic and fun-loving man who enjoyed life to the fullest, Mr. Schultz was an avid hunter and fisherman, a die-hard University of Texas Longhorn fan, and a Texas Ranger fan. He loved traveling in his motor home around the United States, often to Longhorn games. For many years, he owned a home with his wife Virginia on Broken Bow Lake near Idabel, OK where he enjoyed water skiing, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and playing cards with his family and friends.
More than anything, Mr. Schultz will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Schultz; brother, Jack Schultz; and sister-in-law, Loreen Schultz.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Dale Schultz and wife, Sharon Gail, of Granbury; his daughter, Vicki Lynne Schultz of Woodbridge, CT; his grandchildren, Jennifer Schultz Taylor and husband, Nathan, of Marquette, Mich., Jamie Leigh Schultz of Granbury, and Natalie Virginia Schultz-Henry of Woodbridge, CT; his sisters-in-law, Barty Shipp of Idabel, OK and Linda Reich and husband, Kenneth of Idabel, OK; his brother-in-law, Charlie Gaines and wife, Martha, of Oklahoma City, OK; and his step-sister, Jean Schultz; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends
