Obituary of William R. Moffitt

William R. “Bill” Moffitt, age 75 of Idabel, OK passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Idabel, OK. He was born July 21, 1936 in Troy, OH, the son of Charles and Helen Moffitt. Bill Graduated from Troy High School in Troy, OH. He attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked for Hobart Corporation in Troy, OH prior to moving to Idabel, OK. In 1998 Bill retired from the Red River Army Depot where he was employed as a mechanical engineer for 15 years. Bill married Nancy Cooke on June 26, 1982. He enjoyed watching Ohio State and Notre Dame Football, fishing, gentleman ranching and spending time with his family. Bill was a member of the St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Moffitt of the home; a son, Kevin Moffitt and wife, Joan of Glen Ellyn IL; daughter Kelly (Moffitt) Dukes of Nashville, TN; a brother, Charles Moffitt Jr. and wife, Beverly of Columbus, OH; sister, Mary (Moffitt) Hanger and husband, John; granddaughters, Quinn (Dukes) McDivitt and husband, Keller of Brooklyn, New York, Sophia Dukes of Smyrna, TN, Shannon Moffitt of Chicago, IL, Erin Moffitt of Glen Ellyn, IL and Megan Moffitt of Glen Ellyn, IL; step-children, Mary (Cooke) Guyer of Oklahoma City, OK, Dennis Cooke of Blackwell, OK, Diane Musil of Crescent, OK, David Cooke and wife, Bertha of Ft. Worth, TX, Donna (Cooke) Lahti and husband, Eino of Edmond, OK, Delphina (Cooke) Endsley and husband, Chad of Garvin, OK, Christina (Cooke) Shelledy and husband, Joseph of Oklahoma City, OK; 22 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK. The Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Idabel, OK.
