Obituary of Theda Shockley

Theda Josephine Shockley, age 84, longtime Idabel resident passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Wichita, KS surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 25, 1927 in Garvin Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Claudia Tuttle Theda was a homemaker and due to her love of dogs owned and operated a successful dog grooming business for many years. She enjoyed growing flowers, fishing and traveling. Theda was a member of the Church of Christ. She was lifetime resident of McCurtain County until 2004 when she moved to Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Johnny Clyde; sister, Geneva Coffman; and a brother, JP Tuttle. Theda is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Shelby Shockley of the home; daughters, Dian Gray and husband, Sonny, of Burleson Texas and Deborah Rodgers and husband, Jim, of Wichita Kansas; granddaughters Ginger Wilson and husband, Jonathan, of Plano, TX, Tina Kelly of Broken Bow, OK and Amanda Ross and husband, Kelly, of Maize, KS and Chris Armes of Wichita Kansas; 3 great-granddaughters; 5 great-grandsons; and many beloved family members and friends. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at the White Family Chapel with Richy Pollard officiating. Interment will follow in the Canfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 26, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
