Obituary of Carol Ann Crew

Carol Ann Crew passed away Friday March 9, 2012, at her home in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was born March 20, 1942, in Bastrop, Louisiana, the daughter of R.D. “Boots” Reynolds and Evelyn Knight Reynolds. She Married Jerry Crew on September 30, 1961 in Bastrop, LA. They moved to Idabel, OK in 1971 where he was involved in the startup of the Valliant Papermill. Carol Ann graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education. She was an elementary school teacher for nineteen years in the Idabel School System, working at George School, Southeast Elementary and finally Primary South until retiring in 2001. Carol Ann enjoyed traveling and along with Jerry they have been all over the U.S. including Alaska and Hawaii. Carol Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol Ann is survived by her husband Jerry Crew of the home in Idabel, Oklahoma. Also her daughter Tracy O’Rear and husband Keith of Idabel, Oklahoma; sons, Jeff Crew and his wife Kim Poteet Crew of Frisco, Texas and Matt Crew and his wife Kristen Shipp Crew of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lindsay O’Rear of Dallas, Texas, Brittany Crew of Lubbock, Texas, Jason O’Rear of Idabel, Oklahoma, Kenzie Crew and Tyler Crew of Frisco, Texas, Rhett Crew and Ryan Crew of Tulsa, Oklahoma a brother Richard Dennis Reynolds and wife Kaye of Queen City, Texas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel with Shawn Robertson officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
