Obituary of Roy F. Linkswiler

Roy Franklin Linkswiler Sr., age 65, of Valliant passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012. He was born on August 7, 1946 in Modesto, CA, the son of Samuel and Clara Mae Tarwarter Linkswiler. Roy was raised in the Hugo area. He married his wife, Cris on December 16, 1976 at Sherman, TX and they made there home in Valliant. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves from 1963-1969. In 2002 Roy retired from the Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill in Valliant where he worked as an inventory clerk in the warehouse. Roy liked to do carpenter work and build things. He enjoyed fishing and working on computers. Roy was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His favorite scripture was “Jesus is Lord” and he often said it, as well as writing it and placing it on his vehicles. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Bobby Sue Gross; and a brother, Van Edward Linkswiler. Roy is survived by his wife, Cris Linkswiler of the home; sons, Roy Linkswiler Jr. and wife Crystal of Garvin and Casey Armstrong of Valliant; daughter, Misty Reeves and husband Rob of Garvin; a sister, Barbara Sale of Checotah, TX; Heaven Leigh Gross, Brittany Nicole Linehan, Colin Armstrong, D.J. Billy, Jordon Chapman, Tanner Armstrong, Dawson Chapman, Tori Linkswiler and Samuel Linkswiler; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 13, at the White Family Chapel with Bro. Jim Jacobs officiating. The family received friends on Sunday, February 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
