Obituary of Leo Harley

Leo Eugene Harley, 59, of Henryetta, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at Tulsa. He was born April 20, 1947 at Idabel, the son of Leo Michael and Esther Cephus Harley. He was of the Methodist Faith. After graduating from trade school, Leo moved to Chicago where he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War. After serving, Leo returned to Chicago for a brief time then moved to Tulsa where he met and married his wife of 30 years, Velma Taylor. They were married September 8, 1977 at Tulsa and moved to Henryetta to make their home. When he was a young boy, Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing. As he grew older bingo became his favorite interest. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Michael and Esther Harley; sister, Ruby Washington; aunts, Hazel Brown, Adeline John, Lila Brown and Ida Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Velma Harley of the home; son, Leo Eugene Harley Jr. of the home; daughters, Lisa Marie Harley of DeQueen, Gail Harley of Idabel; step-daughter, Gloria Jacobs of Bixby, OK; brothers, Roy Harley of Idabel, Alfred Harley of Wilburton, Everett Harley of Idabel and Virgil Harley of DeQueen; sisters Leola Stehle of Ft. Worth, Ruth Williston of Idabel and Amelia James of Idabel; uncle, James Brown of Idabel; 8 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
