Obituary of Thomas Earl McCurry

Tommy McCurry, age 61 of Wellston, OK passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Midwest City, OK. He was born April 9, 1950 in Millerton, OK, the son of Thomas E. McCurry and Myrtle Eloise Pelt Flowers. He graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1968. Tommy was a talented professional musician playing the bass guitar. He loved making music and instilled this love in his nephews. Tommy was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and had lived in Wellston the last 10 years. Tommy was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary McCurry; and nephews, Justin McCurry and Kyle T. McCurry. Tommy is survived by his sons, Bryan Purdin of Portland, OR, Aaron Cyr of Los Angeles, CA and Ricky McCurry of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter, Krystal Purdin of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Caiden Purdin and Jakub Purdin; step-father, Raymond Flowers of Wellston, OK; brother, Mark McCurry of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen McCurry-York and Troy of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandma, Ada Flowers of Wynnewood, OK; 3 nieces, a nephew, many other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside services were held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community, OK.
