Obituary of Margie BeBe Peters

Margie BeBe Peters, age 81 of Idabel passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Oklahoma City. She was born on November 15, 1929 in Garvin, OK, the daughter of Otto and Bertha Wendt Barrett. BeBe married Earl “Pete” Peters on September 19, 1952 in Oklahoma City and he preceded her in death June of 1977. BeBe moved a lot because her husband was in the U.S. Air Force. She lived in Missouri, Portugal, Kansas, Texas, Mississippi, Arizona and Alabama. After Pete retired from the Air Force they moved back to Idabel and she went to work for the Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services as a clerical person. BeBe retired in 1991 and began taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker. BeBe was a very talented seamstress and loved making her children and grandchildren‘s clothes. She was very active in her children’s lives and served as a Girl Scout leader. While living in Alabama BeBe and Pete enjoyed square dancing and once danced at the Governors Mansion for Gov. George Wallace. BeBe was a member of the By-Pass Church of Christ and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Mark Conley; brother, Cletus Barrett; and a sister, Tommy Sue Baker. BeBe leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Bennie Spiers of Gulfport, MS, Margie and Joe Hiser of Carthage, MO, Leslie Peters, Cindy Conley and Lisa and Donny Butler all of Idabel; grandchildren, JamiAnn Conley, Lance Butler, Danielle Butler, Carlie Webb, Jolie Spiers, Zoey Harrell, Tamra Conway, Lexie Bettis, Brianne Hill and Nathan Hill; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
