Obituary of Eunice Druba

Eunice Druba, 96, of Broken Bow, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Broken Bow. She was born March 25, 1915 at Smithville, OK, the daughter of John and Cora Jordan Quinton. Eunice was raised in McCurtain County and moved to California at a young age. During the war she worked as an under water welder building ships. She later worked several years at a cannery from which she retired. Eunice moved back to Idabel and lived in the big yellow house on Washington Street until her health failed and she went to the nursing home at Broken Bow. Eunice was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank Quinton, Tom Quinton, and Don Quinton; and sisters, Mary Gilley, Myrtle Myers, Lillian Wilkes, Jewel VanWinkle, Ruby Siplinger, Edith Goodman, Gladys Ensley and Maybelle Moore. Eunice is survived by her brother, Chester Quinton; of Buckeye, AZ; nephews, Don and Denice Moore of Wright City, Tommy Moore from Golden, Thomas Moore of Broken Bow, and Wayland Moore of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, Belle and Hershel James of Broken Bow, Evelyn and Shorty Roard of Sand Springs, OK, Joyce Whitcomb of Kansas City, MO and Marie Dalton of Modesto, CA; several cousins, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Denison Cemetery with Father Compose officiating.
