Obituary of Mary Frazier

Mary Ella Turnage Frazier, age 83 passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Idabel. She was born on February 18, 1928 in the Pollard Community, OK, the daughter of Auther and Dobie Thrasher Turnage. Mary and Albert Frazier were married on September 25, 1948 in DeQueen, AR. Mary was a homemaker. She worked as a nurse’s aide at McCurtain Memorial Hospital for 17 years. Mary was a foster parent and along with her husband took care of 135 children over the years. She helped to mold and change their lives and many of them still kept in contact with her. She enjoyed cooking and was affiliated with the Church of God. Mary was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband of over 62 years, Albert Frazier of Idabel; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Gary Funderburk of Nashville, AR; sons, Dennis Frazier of Idabel and Paul Frazier of Idabel; sister and brother-in-law, Lorree and J.D. Brown of Tyler, TX; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery.
