Obituary of Gladys King Dunlap

Gladys King Dunlap, 89, of Wright City, passed away July 31, 2011 at Idabel. She was born July 24, 1922 in Wright City, the daughter of Thomas Martin Lawhon and Nettie Ridge Lawhon. She married John Raymond King on August 26, 1943 in Hugo, OK and he preceded her in death in 1985. Gladys later married Orin Dunlap on March 13, 1991 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of this area. Her parents also preceded her in death. Gladys is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Milton Roy and Sandy King of Amarillo, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Reece Jones of Vacaville, CA, Barbara and Joe Towery of Ringold, OK, and Mary and Clifford “Buzz” Williams of Wright City, OK; grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Marty Towery, Chad Mathis and John King; great-grandchildren, Morgan Mathis, Macee Mathis, Max Mathis, and Mason Towery; step-grandchildren, Duane Williams, Marcus Williams, Chris Lawrence, and Kevin Lawrence; other relatives and a host of friends. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August, 2, 2011 at the Valliant Cemetery with Chad Mathis officiating.
