Obituary of Helen Farley Burreus Hendrix

Helen Farley Burreus Hendrix, age 89 passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Idabel. Helen was born on September 16, 1921 in Idabel, the daughter of Oscar and Lena Farley. Helen was a homemaker. She worked several years as a sales clerk at Sherman’s Shoes. Helen enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening and antiquing. She was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of Idabel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ivy Burreus and Earl Hendrix; sisters, Alma Hamilton and Thelma Cooke; and a brother, Ernest Farley. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Fredda and Joe Murphy of Powderly, TX; granddaughters and spouses, Tracy and Ronnie Mills of Idabel and Holly and Todd Coffman of Valliant; great-grandsons, Zac Coffman and Chad Coffman both of Valliant; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dale and Dr. Lawrence Valentine of Idabel, Leota Smith of Irving, TX and Alice and Albert Wilson of Waco, TX; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at the White Family Chapel with Rev. Elwayne Schaeffer and Rev. Shawn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Canfield Cemetery in Idabel. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the funeral home. in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the St. Judes Hospital.
