Obituary of Ethel Boyd

Ethel Boyd, age 92, lifetime resident of the Redland Community, OK passed away at her home on Thursday, May 19, 2011. She was born on August 24, 1918 in the Redland Community, the daughter of Joseph Judson Farley and Maude Irene Bedford Farley. Ethel was a graduate of Haworth High School. Ethel was a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and a very talented quilter. Ethel also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the By-Pass Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester F. Boyd in 1976; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and June Boyd; a grandson, Ronnie Boyd; a great-granddaughter, Heather Boyd; sisters, Eunice Farley, Christine Hughes and Jewell Pendergraft; and brothers, Carl Farley, Elmer Farley, Glen Farley and Dale Farley. Ethel is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Shirley Boyd of the Goodwater Community and Bobby and Maria Boyd of Evans, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeff Boyd and Carri, Starlet Mattox and Brent, Roger Boyd and Carol, Victoria Boyd, Leah Sanders and Kevin and Gabriel Boyd; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan, Suzanne Pruitt, Morgan Boyd, David Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, Kalaup Boyd, Erica Boyd, Kinley Sanders and Kaden Sanders; 8 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the By-Pass Church of Christ with Wayne Warren officiating. Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
