Obituary of Bill Jackson

Bill Jackson, 82, of Hooks, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in a Texarkana hospital. Mr. Jackson was born September 5, 1928, in Goodwater, Oklahoma. He was retired from Cooper Tire, member of Hooks First Baptist Church, and a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Octavia Jackson; three brothers, J.D., T.J., Rush, Jesse and Jimmy Jackson, and three sisters, Gladys Willingham, Georgia Lee House, and Avis Baker. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Stinson Jackson; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Billy and Patty Jackson of Hooks, and Joe and Kathy Jackson of Denton, Texas; two sisters and one brother, Elsie Weaver and Virginia Wright of California; and Buck Jackson of Oregon; four grandchildren, Amanda Reese and husband Cale of Sanger, Texas, Jo Warren and husband Cole of Savanah, Texas, Travis Jackson and wife Whitney of Texarkana, Texas, and Kelsey Jackson of Denton, Texas; three great-children, and a number of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at White Family Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the White Family Chapel, with the Reverend Roy Ford and Pastor Travis Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery in Goodwater. Memorials may be made to Hooks First Baptist Church or Church on the Rock of Texarkana.
