Obituary of James McCown
James McCown, 82 of Idabel, passed away on July 14, 2010 at Idabel. He was born September 6, 1927, the son of Abern and Martha Morrison McCown.
James served in the United States Army during WWII.
A man of many talents, James enjoyed singing and playing the piano and organ. He was also a gifted artist that could paint anything he set his mind to. He loved family hunting trips and was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Martha Farley and Minnie Walden; brothers, Joe McCown, Frank McCown, Harland Trimble and Johnnie Trimble; brothers-in-law, Bill DeBerry and Kent Yeargin.
James leaves to cherish his memory his son, Mark McCown of Louisiana; sisters, Verna DeBerry of Idabel and Lona Yeargin of Chickasha; 2 grandchildren, Nathan and Meagan McCown; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
