Obituary of Marie Bivings

Marie Bivings, 91 of Idabel, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at her residence in Idabel. She was born July 10, 1919 in Searcy, AR the daughter of John and Alice Milam Rush. Marie was a homemaker. She was a devoted mother and took great pride in raising her children to be good people. Marie loved spending time with her many grandchildren. She enjoyed raising her beautiful flowers and taking care of her beloved dog “Tex’ and bird “Arkie”. Marie was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and was a lifetime resident of Idabel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, John Bivings; an infant daughter, Betty Jo Bivings; son-in-law, Kenneth Gilbert; brothers, Cecil Willis, Clarence Willis, Mart Willis, Lewis Willis and Arthur Rush; and a sister, Ida McIntyre. Marie leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, James Bivings of Idabel, Robert and Elva Bivings of Ringwood, OK and Roger and Sharon Bivings of Idabel; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Don Woodrum of Idabel, Deylois Gilbert of Broken Arrow, Carolyn and Rayford Williamson of Idabel, JoAnn Smith of Idabel and Sandra and Greg Willie of Wright City; a brother, Johnny Rush of Brownsville, TX; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
