Obituary of Lloyd Murphy

Lloyd Murphy, 85 of the Forest Grove Community, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Tulsa. He was born August 28, 1924 at Millerton, OK, the son of Ernest and Susie Gardner Murphy. He moved to Williams, AZ where he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 18 years. He moved back to the Forest Grove Community in 1973 and went to work at the Wright City Sawmill where he worked until retiring. Lloyd was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Garvin Church of Christ. Lloyd enjoyed fishing and taking care of his garden and flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alice Murphy; brothers, Frank Murphy, Carl Murphy, Winston Murphy, Bud Murphy, Gary Murphy, J.W. Murphy, Jimmy Murphy, Joe Murphy and Billy Murphy; and a sister, Kathleen Minter. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Eva Mae Murphy of the Forest Grove Community; a daughter, Michelle Murphy of the Forest Grove Community; a son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Jean Murphy of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Lewis Murphy of Mayor, AZ, Amos Murphy of Chino Valley, AZ and Audis Murphy of Dennison, TX; a sister, Hazle West of Ft. Towson; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
