Obituary of Charles Barnes

Charles Barnes, 64, of the Redland Community passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at Texarkana. He was born May 2, 1945 in Idabel, the son of Charlie and Chloe Robinson Barnes. Charles married Susan Powers in Idabel on February 23, 1968. Charles was a 1963 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. He was a master electrician and worked for several construction companies during his career, most recently he was with MMR. He loved working on his place and taking care of his cattle. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idabel and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Mikey Miller. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Susan Barnes of the Redland Community; daughters and son-in-law, Nikki Miller of the Redland Community and Stephanie and Dusty Winchester of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandchildren, Koltain Winchester, Wessa Miller and Ryder Miller; nephew, Jimmy Billy and his wife Lee Ann of Spavinaw, OK; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Matt Phillips of Garvin and Shirley Miller of Sulphur Springs, TX; several other relatives, and a host of friends.
