Obituary of Earline Hendrix

Earline “Sis” Hendrix, 82 of the Redland Community passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. She was born July 13, 1927, the daughter of Claude H. and Lena Lambert Jones. She married Ray Hendrix in DeQueen, AR on January 26, 1950. She was a 1946 graduate of Haworth High School. Earline was a homemaker and a wonderful cook, especially known for her biscuits and dumplings. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Earline was an avid outdoors person, and loved camping fishing and raising a vegetable garden. Earline was known as “MeeMa” to her family and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Lynn Lane Church of Christ and was lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Claude Henry Jones Jr.; sister, Evelyn “Lil” McCormick; and great-granddaughter, Courtney LeighAnne Balagbagan. Earline is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Hendrix of the Redland Community; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Darrell Courtney of Idabel; grandchildren, Blake Courtney and Laura Courtney, both of Idabel; Tate and Devon Courtney of Centerton, Arkansas; and Jennifer and Kane Balagbagan of the Redland Community; great-grandchildren, Lexxi and Lauren Courtney, RaeLeigh and Makie Balagbagan; and Aspen, Ally, Jackson and Carson Courtney; sisters, Geraldine Voss and Reba “Nez” Jones, both of Idabel; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
