Obituary of Joe Salazar

Joe J. Salazar, 61, of Battiest passed away Monday, January 8, at Battiest. He was born November 8, 1945 to Claudio and Fedila Deliaon Salazar at Houston, Texas. He married Rhodie Tonihka on September 5, 1981 at Houston. Bro. Joe was in ministry for over 30 years. He worked with children’s ministry, bus ministry and pastored for 23 years. He loved preaching and teaching God’s word and fellowshipping with family and friends. He was a member of the Parkwood Baptist Church in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rhodie, of the home; a daughter, Claudia Salazar of Battiest; step-son and daughter-in-law, Solomon and LaVon Tonihka of Wright City; step-grandchildren, Rochieda Tonihka and Shineesta Tonihka of Wright City; brother and sister-in-law, David and Linda Salazar of Spring, Texas; sister, Dorothy Hernandez of Houston; numerous nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
