Obituary of Dick Logan

Charles Ray “Dick” Logan, long time educator, coach, and minister, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Paris, Texas. He was born June 10, 1935 in Garvin, Oklahoma, the son of Clyde and Jewell Coffey Logan. Dick was a graduate of Idabel Gray High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Dick taught school for 43 years in several schools in McCurtain County, including, Ringold, Garvin, Valliant, Forest Grove, and Denison. He spent the majority of that time at Forest Grove where he served as Principal, Teacher, and also coached boy’s basketball, girl’s basketball and track. He was a great influence on his students and athletes and helped mold many young men and women into the people they are today. Dick was a Church of Christ Minister and preached the Gospel for over 50 years. He was currently serving as one of the ministers at the Lynn Lane Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Rae Logan. Dick is survived by his wife, Gloria Dane Logan, of Idabel; sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Logan of Oklahoma City, and Richard and Lea Ann Logan of Paris, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and David Wasson of Shawnee, Leah and Chance SaeLim of Broken Bow, Regina and Rusty Prim of Plano, Texas, Andrea and Dane Williamson of Idabel, Leigh and Casey Rapier, and Lindsay Dane, all of Durant; sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Jim Daniel of Texarkana; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Tam Huckabee, Nancy and Bob Lyndon, Joe and Dianne Voyles, Sue and Wayne Warren, Anna Jean and Luther Kupke and Naomi Farris; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends and former students.
