Obituary of Juanita Edwards

Juanita Edwards, age 84, of the Holly Creek Community passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Paris, TX. She was born on March 3, 1925 in Garvin, the daughter of Lonnie and Nettie Coffman Cowell. Juanita was a homemaker. She loved fishing and quilting. Juanita enjoyed helping her husband with his farming and ranching operation. They raised a garden every year and were particularly proud of their canned pickles. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valliant and had lived most of his her life in McCurtain County. Extremely devoted to her family, Juanita was a fantastic wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin Edwards; sons-in-law, Danny Daniels and Jim Chauvin; brothers, Kenneth Cowell and Bo Wesley; and an infant sister, Bessie Cowell. Juanita is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Gail and Tony Batchelor of the Holly Creek Community, Barbara and Josh Randle of Valliant, Betty Daniels of Valliant, Janice Chauvin of Idabel, and Kaye Edwards of Idabel; grandchildren, Chad Batchelor, Amber Batchelor, Joshalyn Chandler, Angie Turner, Ricky Daniels, Danny Ray Daniels, Stacy Minter, and Scott LeCompte; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvie and Marie Cowell, Dean and Nona Cowell, and Curtis and Pat Cowell all of Garvin; sister, Lomas Williamson of Garvin; a sister-in-law, Beverly Cowell of ; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
