Obituary of Herman Thomas

Herman Thomas Sr., 74, of Idabel, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009. He was born June 30, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Will and Annie Baynes Thomas. Herman was employed by Chrysler for 17 years as a foreman in Detroit, Michigan before moving to McCurtain County in 1978. He worked at the Idabel Housing Authority for 23 years and was currently serving on their board and most recently worked for Little Dixie. Herman loved to fish, and was a fan of western movies. He enjoyed attending sporting events and visiting with people. Herman was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents. Herman leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Herman Thomas Jr. of Oklahoma City, Albert Young Jr., of DeQueen, AR, Troy Hill of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tony Hill of Idabel; a daughter, Renita Douglass of Ardmore; grandchildren, Dantrele Willis, Kacey Thomas, Stacey Thomas, Ashlee Haywood, Jacquorrion King, Adaylas Lawson, Brandon Thomas, Malika VanWright, Akeela VanWright, Jamie Hill, Frankie Hill, Jodie Hill, Thomya Hill, Marcy Nunley, Darrius Threatt, and Deija Hill; great-grandchildren, Antonio Willis and Latrale Willis; sisters, Mabel Favors of Idabel, and Mary Thomas, of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
