Obituary of Oletha Tackett

Oletha Tackett, 87, formerly of Haworth, passed away November 15, 2009 at Hugo. She was born October 12, 1922 at Median, Kansas. She was a faithful member of the Haworth Church of Christ. A devoted mother and grandmother, Oletha loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. Her chicken and dumplings were a favorite. She was a very giving person who loved to help others in need by volunteering with the S.O.S. shelter for families and Hand-to-Hand. She also worked as a cashier at Wal-mart for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lola Freeman Gaskill. Oletha is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Carolyn Holmes of Haworth; daughter and son-in-law, Ju Nell and Don Watkins of Spencerville; grandchildren, Teresa McDonald, Jerry Edwards and Donny Holmes; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb McDonald and Hannah Holmes; great-great-grandchild, Mathias McDonald; many other relatives and a host of friends.
