Obituary of Jerry Nelson John

Jerry Nelson John, age 67 of Idabel passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his residence. He was born on April 8, 1942 in the Marshal Hill Community, the son of Corneilus and Betsie Mitchell John. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jerry enjoyed fishing and was an avid rodeo fan. He was a member of the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area. Jerry was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edna Gragg; and brothers, Gilbert John, Olen John and Tony John. Jerry is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Jacqueline Williams, Roger Williams, Paul Scott John, Jerry Luther John and fiancé, Tanya Emery all of Idabel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Carolyn John of Idabel, Morris John of Idabel, Aubrey and Kendra John of Oklahoma City and Johnny and Luanne John of Idabel; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Franklin Vancil of Idabel; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
