Obituary of Rebecca Pollard

Rebecca Elizabeth Pollard, 70 of Wylie, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at her residence. Rebecca was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on January 22, 1939. Her parents were the late Nelson Troy Shankles and Hazel Whittle Shankles. She married Joel Eugene Pollard on May 7, 1989 in Red River County, Texas. She was a member the First Baptist Church in Wylie. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Joel Eugene Pollard of Wylie, Texas; sons, Terry A. Jones of Idabel, Oklahoma, John E. Pollard of Wylie, Texas, Jeffery S. Pollard of Sachse, Texas; daughters, Cheryl D. Stokes of Hooks, Texas, Kay L. Shields of Wylie, Texas; brothers, Bill Shankles of Idabel, Oklahoma, Thomas Shankles of Irving, Texas; sisters, Lynda F. McGough of Idabel, Oklahoma, Phylis Setzer of Valliant, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Cecil Shankles, Lenord Shankles and Bit Shankles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Cancer Research.
