Obituary of Dorene Cupit

Dorene Cupit, 89 of the Holly Creek Community, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Idabel, OK. She was born September 29, 1919 at Stroud, OK, the daughter of James and Ollie Gaskins. On February 4, 1939 she married Bill Cupit at Coalgate, OK. Their life together took them on many journeys in the United States. Coming from Denver in 1963, the couple made their home in McCurtain County. Dorene loved traveling when she was able. Later, playing cards and bingo were her favorite things to do with her friends of the senior citizens center. Cooking played a big part in her life and her meals were delicious. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill in 1986; son, Rex Cupit; 2 grandsons, Danny Butler and Jimmy Lingo; sisters, Hazel Gwilt, Bonnie Gaskins, Mary Green and Betty Gaskins. Dorene leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Cupit of Paris, Texas, Bob Cupit of Englewood, Colorado, Jack and Linda Cupit, McAlester, Randy and Barbara Cupit of Broken Bow; daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Ted Cruz of Littleton, Colorado, Sue Williams of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Dena Webb of Idabel, Lycrecia Hicks of the Holly Creek Community; brother, Jack Gaskins of Colorado; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Bill McGough of Kansas City, Missouri and JoAn and Arlis Cooper of Neosho, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special friends, Barbara Vandever, Sue McDaniel and Fay Cauthen; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and a host of friends.
