Obituary of Ruby Baker

Ruby Baker, 91, longtime Haworth resident passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Tulsa. She was born November 19, 1917 in Porterville, California, the daughter of Grover C. and Laura Coale Reeves. Ruby was an accomplished homemaker. She loved crocheting and knitting things for family and friends. Ruby was a wonderful cook, famous for her rolls, she enjoyed cooking for funeral dinners and family gatherings. She worked at the Sr. Citizens Center in Haworth for several years and also helped her husband Ben when he ran Haworth Water. Ruby was a member of the Haworth Church of Christ and also served on the Haworth Town Board at one time. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben F. Baker; sons, John Baker and Clyde Baker; and 9 siblings. Ruby is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ruben and Martha Baker of Texarkana, Fred Baker of Grannis, AR, Jimmy and Terry Baker of Tulsa, and Randall Baker of Cove, AR; a sister, Annabelle Boehm of Houston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
