Obituary of Stella Steavenson

Stella Steavenson, 73, of Idabel, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Idabel. She was born November 12, 1935 in Stamps, Arkansas, the daughter of Clarence Francis Nix and Ilah Dean Tackett Nix. Stella was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and singing. She was a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, T.C. Nix, Vernon Nix and Doyle Nix; sisters, Louise Nix and Frances Nix Elrod; and a granddaughter, Shalonda Bendler. Stella is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Steavenson of Broken Bow, and Jerry and Frances Steavenson of Ft. Towson; a daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Michael Ragsdale of Valliant; grandchildren, Laura Courtney, Wesley Steavenson, Paula Swann, Tammy Steavenson, Loretta Cook, James Bendler and Charles Bendler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arv Lee and Patsy Nix of Greenville, Texas, and George Harlous and Betty Nix of the Holly Creek Community; a sister, Lucille Britton of Garvin; 3 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
