Obituary of Melvin Box

Melvin Box, 72 of Wright City, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Texarkana, TX. He was born September 23, 1936 the son of Roy and Ruth Whitten Box. On December 29, 1955 he married Mary Fields at Hugo, OK. He was of the Baptist faith. A lifetime resident of McCurtain County, Melvin enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheila Jo Box and son, Larry Joe Box. Melvin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Box; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Youlynda Box of Glover, Gary and Tracy Box of Hollycreek, Glen and Ladonna Box of Wright City, Shawn and Mary Box of Wright City; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Eddie Hill and Melinda Box all of Wright City; brothers, W.A. “Buck” Box and wife, Faye of Garvin, Donald Ray Box of Wright City; sisters, Lavada Ellis and husband, Sonny of the Herndon Community, Sue Nagel and husband, Kenneth of Idabel and Dorene Melton of Valliant; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
