Obituary of Claude Mullens

Claude Mullens, age 85, of Idabel passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born on July 12, 1923 at Silo, Oklahoma, the son of Jasper Eli and Jocie Wrinkle Mullens. Claude married Virgie Gray on July 31, 1948 at Sherman, TX. The couple made their home in Idabel in 1953. A World War II vet, Claude was very proud of his military service. He earned a Purple Heart, Silver Star and an Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a retired auto mechanic. Family was Claude’s main priority in life. He loved spending time with his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Valena Tassey; brothers, J.E., J.C., Clyde, Marvin, Clarence, Leo, Claud and Alvin Mullens; son-in-law, Charlie Hampton. Claude is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virgie Mullens; son, Joseph Claude Mullens of Idabel; daughters and sons-in-law, Glynda and Glen Curlee of Ada, Judi Hampton of DeQueen, Sharon and Jeff DeVille of Idabel; sister-in law, Helen Buckley and husband, Floyd; brother-in-law, John Gray, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several other relatives and many many friends.
